2-15 - UFW08 - John21 - On the Wrong Side of the Bed

This work is not yet complete. Properly, it bears the byline "For Elizabeth Fava", but that would give the wrong idea, given the title. It came to me as I awoke in a hostel in Europe the first time I travelled, though I don't recall which city. Some rooster was crowing, earlier than I wanted it to, and somehow I had the idea of making a song about a rooster who had to crow, but didn't want to, because he woke up 'on the wrong side of the bed', and was cranky (the theme is sort of rooster-ish, I think). I had decided that it would be a piano duet, and that, when finished, I would play it with Liz. That's what my brain decided. I do not understand my brain.
